Shrapnel - 2/15 Edition

In this edition of Shrapnel: Torres' deal, Nash's pressure, more on practice, the Gold Medal game, and more Olypic coverage!

Lets do this.

Star-divide

BlueJackets XTRA:

Raffi Torres wants to stay. What else is new? The odds are against him, but it looks like his pricetag is smaller than we thought. Perhaps the recent jolt in the team's play is enough to make Howson see how valuable he is. Don't let him go!

Rick Nash will be feeling the heat on the ice when he lands in Vancouver today to prepare for the Olympic games. While they have the entire country behind them, the Canadian team will be under tremendous pressure.

A list of other Blue Jacket Olympians and what this tournament means to them, and their countries.

Anton Stralman is definitely more of a lover than a fighter.

-

Puck-rakers:

Coach Noel has definitely brought some different elements to to team since taking over. Look at this one, for example.

-

Yahoo! Sports:

Puck Daddy's Three Stars. Interesting fact about Chicago winning the season series against us this year.

Why is it whenever this guy gets hit with a puck, it makes headlines, but anyone else in the league gets nothing?

-

The Buffalo News:

The Sabres were one of several teams to hold pregame ceremonies for the players headed to the Olympics. G Ryan Miller received a standing ovation from the Buffalo crowd.

-

NHL.com:

Predicting the Gold Medal game.

In the words of Stephen Colbert: Great hockey tournament, or greatest hockey tournament?

Q&A session with staff writer Dan Rosen. Look at #6, and tell me thats not scary.

-

Bleacher Report:

Where are they now?: The 1980 US Men's hockey team.

-

Fight of the weekend:

Lightning C Nate Thompson v. Islanders LW Matt Martin

Honorable Mention:

Maple Leafs RW Colton Orr v. Blues RW Cam Janssen. Video.
