Garon Named 2nd Star Of The Week
Thanks to his back to back shutouts, Mathieu Garon has been named the NHL's second star of the week for 11/5-11/12!
In six appearances with the Blue Jackets this season, Garon has posted a 4-1-0 record with a 1.28 goals-against average, .951 save percentage and two shutouts. Congrats to Garon on his well deserved recognition.
Former Jacket Raffi Torres was also named the #1 star of the week for his play with the Vancouver Canucks, and the #3 star of the week is St. Louis' Jaroslav Halak.

Random comment: Dustin Boyd was placed on waivers today … I guess it’s a consequence of living in Montreal that I get to see much more of the habs in practice, but I think he would be a nice addition?
I guess my question is, does he bring anything that Derek MacKenzie or Kyle Wilson don’t?

Admittedly, I’ve been very impressed by the role that Kyle Wilson has been playing this early in the season. It was completely unexpected and if he were not here, then yes I could see a role for Dustin Boyd, but I do understand where you’re coming from. As for Derek MacKenzie, he hasn’t been doing anything wrong, but he hasn’t overly impressed me either … I guess it’s a good thing that I haven’t noticed him, though, because it means he hasn’t been coughing up the puck and drawing my attention :p
