Blunden Returned to Springfield

The Blue Jackets have returned Mike Blunden to the Springfield Falcons, ending his emergency recall. Aside from his fairly unmemorable performance last night, in addition to contributing to the Avs' third goal, this likely indicates that the team expects Rick Nash and/or Derek MacKenzie to be back in the lineup for Wednesday, which isn't unexpected.

Despite the frustrations with Blunden last night, it's worth considering that he's been a point per game player in the AHL this year. Perhaps he can find some more success in Springfield after his return, and he may have a better performance the next time he's brought up to the main club.
