Game 7 (X) Recap: Jackets fall short against the Caps

In a game that was so important for many of the players on the fence between making the team and being sent to the minors, one player in particular has come close to cementing his case to make the squad.

Kyle Wilson picked up his second goal of the preseason, a shortie assisted by Chris Clark.

Wilson has been one of the best forwards in camp, putting up points, winning faceoffs, and seeing time on both the powerplay and the pentalty kill. He is making things difficult for the coaching staff, as he is edging out incumbents like Andrew Murray.

Clark had a solid game last night, along with providing the helper for Wilson's shortie, he also scored a goal himself, this time on the powerplay. He is a player that some fans of the CBJ believe was on the outside looking in, a high priced veteran who was being outplayed by youngsters. Last night however, he showed that he could contribute on special teams and he still provides the always important veteran leadership.

Rookie David Savard was solid again, logging to most icetime of any Blue Jacket, checking in at 24:09. He was used mainly five-on-five and on the powerplay. He finished with a helper on Nick Holden's powerplay goal.

For more info, here's the Blue Jackets vs Capitals recap and you can check out Japers' Rink for their take on the game.

I'd like your thoughts on Kyle Wilson folks- where does he fit in the starting lineup were he to make the team out of camp? Hit the comments!

I think it would be hard to justify keeping him off the roster at this point, and I think he probably starts the season as the fourth line center. after all, Arniel said he wanted some offense out of that line.

I have been complimented many times and they always embarrass me; I always feel that they have not said enough.
