Shrapnel - 1/26 Edition

In this edition of Shrapnel: Line-ups for tonight's home contest against Nashville (If you can go, then go!), hearing some fan reactions about the rest of the season, Kovalchuk trade, and Power Rankings!

Its a game night in Columbus!

Watch out for the Preview and Game Threads later today!

GO JACKETS!!!

Star-divide

Puck-rakers:

Yesterday, the guys at Puck-rakers wanted to give us, the fans, a chance to have our voices heard. The idea was to express your interest in the remainder of the season that never was. Here are some of the responses they got.

-

BlueJackets XTRA:

Probable line-ups for tonight:

CBJ

Nashville

As you saw above, Voracek is likely a go for tonight. Home games are one the menu from here on out. And you have to check out what Jackets GM Scott Howson did 25 years ago...

Please don't forget, I urge you to go to these home games when you get a chance. While some people find it difficult to justify the visit to the arena, remember, when you became a Jackets fan you vowed to Carry The Flag. Keep Marching!

-

Yahoo! Sports:

Puck Daddy's Three Stars. Daniel Sedin recorded the assist of the year. No argument.

There have been discussions on my recent Fan Post about Ilya Kovalchuk. Rumors are flying, and two teams appear to be the frontrunners.

Pass or Fail? Should NHL coaches be allowed to challenge calls made by the officials?

-

CBC Sports:

Speaking of Scott Howson, he's got this wacky idea about the point system in the NHL.

-

Power Rankings:

ESPN - 28th

Fox Sports - 28th

Columbus Dispatch - 27th

SB Nation - I get it, we're still unranked

TSN - 28th

CBS Sports - 28th

-

Quote of the day:

"Baseball does half-games. Basketball does half-games. They do percentages in baseball. I'm not saying this is the perfect answer, but it's something I want discussed."

- Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson

Fight of the night:

Blues RW Cam Janssen v. Flames RW Brian McGrattan

Kovy and Ovie on the same squad...

That should be illegal. Then again, I would rather he stays in the east. I’m sure he’s fun to watch and all, but I’d rather not see him against the Jackets on a regular basis!
