Prospect Scoring Update #2

Ncaa_atkinson_300_medium

Cam Atkinson

This is the second prospect update of the season. The Jackets have some very good prospects in the system, and for the most part they are having solid seasons. There are others who are not meetin expectations statistically.

One of the Jackets prospects has changed teams recently, with Steve Delisle being traded from the Gatineau Olympique to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The Huskies are loading up for a deep run in the QMJHL playoffs, with hopes of making it to the Memorial Cup. The Huskies have also traded for two members of Canada's world junior team- Patrice Cormier and Jordan Caron. It will be good to see another Jacket prospect in the Mem Cup hopefully.Winger Tomas Kubalik is having a solid season with Victoriaville of the Q, sitting third in team scoring. He has a very good World Junior tournament playing for the Czech Republic.

There are a few surprises in the college ranks. Cam Atkinson, who is playing for the Boston College Eagles, is currently second in team scoring. In the traditionally low-scoring college game, it's good to see a prospect at double-digit goals already. Keep an eye on this kid. Another suprise, this team not of the positive variety, is the lack of points being put up by former CBJ second round pick Will Weber. He has yet to score a goal after 21 games.
