Shrapnel - 1/11 Edition

First I would like to say, sorry to the lack of posts over the last few days. A near car crash Thursday left me without a car and I had no internet the next 3 days. Neat. But hey, the Jackets are winning again so it can't be all that bad.

Oh the difference a weekend makes. Three straight wins and things are finally starting to calm down in Columbus. They weren't pushovers, and they didn't go down without a fight either. Calgary, Edmonton and Dallas. Feels great to get some quality wins to boost morale and confidence.

And away we go!

Star-divide

Fox Sports:

We all should lay off the "Fire Hitchcock" stuff. I'm guilty of it myself. We should be fortunate to have such a high caliber coach as ours. Think Dave King or Gerard Gallant could've gotten us to the playoffs? Yeah, me either.

-

BlueJackets XTRA:

Porty hands out his midseason grades. Personally, I think he was awfully hard on Mase, and the defensemen. Most notably Rusty, Russ, and Hejda. As for the forwards, I disagree with him on Vermette and Jake. Everyone else was at least close to spot on.

More troubles on the arena front. Whats it going to take to get this figured out? I'm not losing this team. Under. Any. Circumstances.

Another Jacket is committed to playing for this team, he loves it here, and who can blame him? He's taking the Rick Nash approach. I've said all along, Howson needs to make a deal to keep him in town. Not only is he a fan favorite, he's a damn good hockey player.

The team is showing signs of last season and it feels so good. All it's going to take is a few more wins here and there and we'll be back in it!

-

Yahoo! Sports:

Three stars from yesterday's action. I am now convinced that Torres will the savior of this season. Lets get him in a position to score more!!!

Again, I. WILL. NOT. LOSE. THIS. TEAM.

NHL.com:

Garon save on Modano.

Team USA has themselves a team captain for the Olympics. His name is Jamie Langenbrunner.

Quote of the day:

"I said, 'Oh, my god, Commie, I forgot how easy this was,' "

-Jan Hejda. Someone get this guy a mic and a brick wall to stand in front of. He's got a career in comedy after his hockey days are done.
