Nash has Signed

According to Aaron Portzline's Twitter, Rick Nash has signed an 8 year 62.4 million dollar deal with a cap hit of 7.8 million a year.

That's about as good as we could expect from a cap perspective. Hopefully it is frontloaded beyond all hell.

Hopefully CBJ nation will be able to take a deep breath. It is a big sigh of relief for many, but remember: stay patient. Nash said what he said to get a deal done quickly. It worked. He is our captain for the next 9 season.

Sorry Toronto.

Contract

From Puck-rakers……“He’ll make $7.5 million in 2010-11, and the contract goes up slightly each season before Nash makes $8.2 million in 2017-18.” There ya go. I’m an avid puck-rakers reader :)

Some visionary posted this:

“I’d like to see 7-8 years for roughly 7.5 a year.

8 years, $61 million"

My prediction from here: http://www.jacketscannon.com/2009/5/27/890521/the-rick-nash-contract

Maybe I should be a GM. ;)

yesssss.

so happy. Rick Nash for another 8 years. i do agree with what i hear about giving Columbus some support in signing players now, possibly interested in playing with Nash(considering that he is locked now for 8 and Jackets seem to have an exciting young core coming out).
