Likes:
-Opening the season at home.
-Seeing, then beating, the champs at home.
-4/3 at home vs Washington. I’m excited to see Ovechkin play.
-Toronto at home 12/3. I hope some Toronto fans show up, just so I can watch them cry because they won’t see #61 in one of their jerseys, for a long, long time.
-Rematch with Boston. After last years thriller, I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Dislikes:
-Finishing the season with a home and home with Detroit. God forbid, but if our playoff hopes rest on those final two games, I will be concerned. There’s no way they want to face us again in the playoffs. We’ll be out for revenge.

Looks like a pretty solid schedule from top to bottom, AND I CAN’T WAIT!!

Ovechkin coming to town(not a fan, too cocky)

yes

ovechkin is cocky. however sometimes his antics are funny. he single handedly revived the lost art of stick celebrations. if you channel jimi hendrix in a celebration, you’re ok with me.

agree

His antics are sometimes funny. and I do laugh really hard when they are. I wish he played more like Crosby and just let his game do the talking. Not his game and his mouth.

honestly, I like the fact that he can score (a lot) and be kind of a bully at the same time. it just makes him more of a complete player, not just a finesse guy that doesn’t want to get his hands dirty.

Ovechkin is my favorite player not playing for the Blue Jackets.

He’s got some attitude and style, and I like that. Not every superstar has to be like Rick Nash (not saying that’s what your getting at, but still).

And I don’t think I’ve ever really seen him run his mouth. He’s over the top on the ice, but he’s not a trashtalker or constantly running his mouth like Ochocinco or T.O.

for the record

I wasn’t referring about Nash at all…more of a shot at Crosby. We’ve seen Nash get in people’s faces before. He’s a physical beast, just doesn’t have the opportunity to score like Ovie. I have to agree that he is my favorite player who isn’t on our roster.

Sorry, my reply was actually more towards Ryan than you — I agree with you on Ovie.

Get your “Sudden injury” bingo cards ready, kids!

This year I’m putting my money on ‘Prolapsed Colon’ for the 12/5 game, and ‘Lambic Imbalance’ for the 1/2/10 game.

Whoops. That was supposed to go under the Adam Foot “injury” comment.

Finishing Strong Against the Strongest

With a Detroit-heavy April schedule, and a rested Steve Mason thanks to Mathieu Garon, I’m inclined to think the Jackets won’t limp into the post-season like this previous season. The Wings are a team that the Jackets always play passionately, and it’ll be hard to sit back against them.

Let’s face it, once they clinched a berth, it seems like the team exhaled, stopped sucking in their guts, and pulled an Al-Bundy-after-work. This year… I see a different story.

agree

Last year just proved that we’re starting to turn the corner against them. I feel like it’ll only get better from here. Props for the Al Bundy comment…
