Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Ken Hitchcock is not a finalist for the Jack Adams. What does this guy have to do to get the nod? He's the third fastest coach to 500 wins, with a winning percentage only behind Scotty Bowman and Toe Blake.

In my opinion Hitch lost this nod to Murray in the last 3 weeks of the year. I can’t say I disagree with the other nominees.

Hitch did a great job, but I’m not sure it was a top 3 job in the league. Hopefully he is in the mix next year.

Murray is definitely deserving of the nod. He did basically the same as Hitch, just in a smaller timeframe. The Jackets were in the bottom of the standings, and projected to finished 13th or 14th in the West just like the Blues to start the year.

I guess I can’t always get behind the best players/coaches of the best teams generally being the only ones that get any recognition.

They’re all deserving, or they wouldn’t be there. I’m just left scratching my head, what does Hitch need to do to win the Jack Adams?
