sucky defense...sucky goaltending

Anybody else seeing a pattern here? Giving up 6, 7 goals every third game? Detroit....the Rangers...and now, sucky Toronto. This team is going nowhere,especially in this conference. Mason is human, the defense is subpar, and the offense is still inconsistent. Yeah, yeah, injuries. Please...Lots of potential talent and growing youth...but just a mediocre team that will not stay afloat with Chicago, Nashville and Detroit. If we can't beat Toronto at home, we aren't going anywhere. Sorry to be the voice of reason here. I am a 34 year old hockey fan who has watched about 6 playoff season during my lifetime, thanks to the Whalers and now, the Blue Jackets. I hope I am wrong, but this is not good. Team displays no confidence whatsoever,,,,except for leaving goalies out to dry.

Plenty of time to turn it around but I agree, more consistency is needed. Better road efforts, more scoring (just cause you put the puck on net doesn’t make it a good shot) MUCH MORE effort on Defense needs to be made. Mase is fine, he is playing his heart out I think. Too dependent on Rick Nash to score everything…need to lure more high-profile OFFENSIVE people to Columbus.

disagree w/ your last thought. i think we’re lacking a solid, and i mean solid defenseman to mirror hejda on another line. commodore, methot, tyutin, etc. not only many times don’t help us…they harm us w/ their sloppy puck handling & passing and often times, lazy play.
there’s a lot of problems w/ this team and this wouldn’t put us over the top….but it would help
