Game 39 Preview: Jackets travel to MoTown

This is a quick one, folks- the Jackets take on the Wings tonight in Detroit. The lines were shaken up again, you can see the projected lines below. Garon gets the start, with Jimmy Howard at the other end of the ice.

The outcome of this game will depend on whether or not the Jackets can finally bring it all together, defensively and offensively. Garon needs to be sharp, even with Zetterberg out of the lineup for the Wings they are still a dangerous offensive team. The "Goat Line" is reunited from last seaosn- Chimmer with Brass and Jake. (Two kids and an old goat). I am eager to see what they can do together.

Marc Methot was injured in the last game and will be out for a couple of weeks. Not that I wish injury on anybody, but I'd much rather see Roy in the lineup over Methot. He is tentatively paired with Jan Hejda, I think this has the makings of a great pairing. For whatever reason, Hejda and Commie weren't able to recapture their magic from last season and have looked brutal together. Commie will provide cover for Russ, which should be a good role for him. I love watching Russ rush the puck up the ice.

Let's just have an entertaining game tonight boys, start a winning streak and you are right back in it!

Star-divide

From the Columbus Dispatch:

A loss would extend the Blue Jackets' winless streak to a franchise record-tying nine games, set Dec. 4-23, 2003. If Blue Jackets coach Ken Hitchcock holds to his "win and you're in" approach to picking a goaltender, Mathieu Garon will start tonight. The Blue Jackets won 8-2 on March 7, 2009, their most recent game in Joe Louis.
