Why blame Mason????

Ok yes Mason is struggling BUT i believe the biggest problem is the TEAM play not Mason's. The Jackets are playing horrible hockey and you know it seems as if Nasher is slacking off this year. There was an article about him doing everything on his own but it seems to me that his play is sloppy. The whole team is playing sloppy. I think we need to trade Filatov's rights for Kaberle or some more offense. The other night against Phoenix, EVERY shot was wide of the net. Fedor Tyutin couldnt even connect with the puck on any of his shots idk how many times the team missed the puck on a shot completely....what are your thoughts? i could go on more about what we are doing wrong and what we need to change but we all know wut it is...the question is, does Howson?

I think Howson is doing the right thing. He’s taking everything one game at a time. Just because the team’s play is way off of its full potential, Howson isn’t out to make some noise on the trade market. Thats not to say he isn’t looking, which he is. There have been some minor discussions about bringing in a defenseman.

Mason is part of the problem. There’s no argument against that. Yes, he has had a couple flukey games but he is a goaltender. Even when the defense in front of you breaks down, you have to be on your toes and he has looked flat. Case in point is the Colorado game from Saturday. There’s no excuse to allow a goal 21 seconds into the game. None.

Chris Stewart got right in Mason’s face and didn’t do anything about it. He probably could’ve stuck his stick out and made the save. Mase hasn’t been playing like Mase.

I refuse to believe that the talent on this team will continue to play this way. Brighter days are ahead and we will look back and think “Wow, that poor stretch was a disappointment, but look at us now”

Agreed

i agree with this to a certain point the team using the term team very loosely here is very terrible at this point and nash needs to prove that he deserves to wear the C but on the other hand mason being the rookie of the year last year and being nominated for the vezina trophy should show that those awards weren’t just a fluke but alot of the time goalie’s dont usually don’t start proving there worth until the later years all this team needs is time but no one seems to give them a hope in hell
