Columbus Blue Jackets at Chicago Blackhawks, Dec 1, 2009 8:00 PM EST


This will be a tough one, Jackets Nation. (or Jackets Army, we need a nickname for CBJ fans) The Hawks are high-powered, and the Jackets defense is still not 100%, especially with Rusty out. Can the CBJ slay goliath on United Center Ice?

This won’t be pretty, I’m afraid. the Hawks are firing on all cylinders and the Jackets are trying to gather some momentum. Its always close with them though so who knows.

I like calling us the Jackets Army btw…just fits with the rest of the teams aura…Cannon, Blue Jackets, Army…it just works.

The speed difference is getting more noticeable and its only the end of the first. Also, we’re doing jack shit with the puck right now. I dont have a good feeling…

They’re playing for a lot. Hossa’s first home game, looking to get their coach his 500th win, first game against the CBJ…We’ll bounce back. Be thankful they’re not up 2-3 already.

Overtime! I really liked their play at the end of the 3rd. Gritting it out, playing pretty hard for such a (probably) tired group. Good checking and decent play in general.

Going into this game, I would have loved just getting a point. At the end of this game, I really think Columbus deserved that win more. Unfortunate SO loss after an amazing job by Mason.

I'm honestly happy with this performance

All but the homerest homers had it at least in the back of our minds that this was a game where we could have and probably should have been creamed.. and yet, took 11 rounds in the shootout for Chicago to get rid of us.

I think Commie played GREAT tonight.. other than two failures to keep the puck in the o-zone this was his best game yet I feel.

Russell with the Mach3 one-timer from hell, yeah.. we scratch this guy regularly. Name 5 better skaters in the NHL.

Stralman is my goat tonight. Checks the guy into the third row before when the puck is in a different zipcode on the second interference call. Good job reading the play but you gotta show patience and discipline there.

My heart goes out to Mase, I liked his performance tonight and I liked that he was pissed off, my inner optimist hopes that this loss will be a good thing for him.

thanks for talking me down from the ledge. I agree completely, this could have easily been a blow out. We had at least one puck off the goal post late in regulation and several real good opportunities that would have made things a lot different. Hard fought and well deserved point.
