The Jackets have three prospects playing in the USHL this season- second rounder Will Weber, a defenseman for the Chicago Steel; third rounder Jake Hansen, a forward with the Sioux Falls Stampede; and seventh rounder Trent Vogelhuber, an Ohio native, who is playing forward for the Des Moines Buccaneers.The USHL season has just started, but here are the stats for those three so far:
Weber: 2GP / 0G / 0A / 0P / -1 / 8PIM
Hansen: 1GP / 1G / 1A / 2PTS / -2 / 4PIM
Vogelhuber: 1GP / 0G / 1A / 1PTS / -1 / 0PIM
Another Columbus connection to the USHL are the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets, who are entering their second season in the league. At this point they are 2-0 and are leading the league in goals for.
