Blue Jackets Off to Best Start in Franchise History

Does Ken Hitchcock have a cold or were those tears of joy in his eyes at his post game press conference. Maybe he doesn't believe what he has been seeing in this young season. Or maybe he is just so proud of his team that he couldn't hide it. One thing you can count on, this game is already behind him and he is getting prepared for Saturday night against San Jose.

The Blue Jackets have their first two game winning streak of the year and went to 2-0 against their division opponents by beating the St. Louis Blues 3-0. Jared Boll scored a huge goal, his second goal of the season, that turned an end to end game into the Jackets favor. Pascal Leclaire continued his strong early season play by picking up his fourth shutout of the season and Rick Nash scored a highlight reel, between the legs power play goal that gave the Jackets a two goal lead. Jiri Novotny scored an empty net goal to complete the scoring.

So what do we make of these Blue Jackets. Is this the time to be cautious because of the past. Should I prepare for a certain meltdown because this team has done nothing in their franchise existence. Should we call it a fluke and realize there is a five or six game losing streak around the corner.

No. I'm just going to enjoy the best start in franchise history with a tear in my eye and look forward to Saturday night. Just like Coach Hitchcock.
